The Prayerful Word - July 24

  • Nahum 1:7 The Lord is good, a strong hold in the day of trouble; and He knoweth them that trust in Him.

Ezekiel 36:26 The Sovereign Lord says, “I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh.”

Jeremiah 18:6 The Lord said to Jeremiah, “Just like the clay in the potter’s hand, so are you in My hand.”

Isaiah 53:5 But He was pierced for our transgressions, He was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on Him, and by His wounds we are healed.

Philippians 2:5 Let this same attitude {and} purpose {and} [humble] mind be in you which was in Christ Jesus: [Let Him be your example in humility:]

John 15:8 By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit.

May you treasure the Word of the Lord, heeding it even when it is contrary to your wishes. 2 Chronicles 11

May you set the service of God above goods and properties, giving honor to the Lord through your service to His people. 2 Chronicles 11

May you choose the prosperity of your soul over the prosperity of the world, seeking the true worship of God and desiring fellowship of God's saints, that you may take yourself out of the temptation to follow the world in its idolatry. 2 Chronicles 11

May you humble yourself under the hand of God when trouble enters your life so that He may purge your heart and cleanse your life of the things which prevent you from drawing closer to the Master. 2 Chronicles 12

May you always seek God for your needs, turning to the Lord as your Source, depending on Him Who hears you, and having presented your need with strong cryings, add the shout of faith, testifying with the word of trust, that the King Whose kingdom endures may receive the glory which is His due. 2 Chronicles 13

May you rely on the Lord your God when facing a conflict, for He will make you victorious through your dependency. 2 Chronicles 13

May you wait patiently in hope for the promise of God. Romans 8

May the Spirit Himself help you in your weakness when you do not know what to pray for, as He intercedes for you with groans that words cannot express, since He Who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit Who intercedes for you according to God's will. Romans 8

My child, seek My shelter in distress, trouble, or danger. Turn to Me when you are in need, for I have prepared what you have need of.
When Jonah ran from Me, he and all those with him experienced the storm of My displeasure. Jonah was resigned to a doom of his imagining but I had already prepared a place of safety, a time of refuge, and a method of transport to get him back on track in time to complete his assignment.
When David sought to escape from Saul's death sentence, I protected him on his travels and sheltered him in his sojourns. David did not have advance knowledge of where Saul would search or how many men he would bring so he had to stay alert, using his wilderness skills to plan ahead and develop strategies. But he sought Me as he did so, and I honored his dependency on Me. He did not quietly, secretly, pray in his tent before the strategy meetings with his captains; rather, he announced it before all his men and publicly sought My answers for all to hear. And when his wisdom and decisions had him cornered, I responded to his need because he sought Me out beforehand.
When I saw the evil that was in men's hearts in the generations of Adam after the fall in the garden, only one man turned and sought Me for direction with a willing heart. Noah was obedient to the task I gave him, refusing to be distracted as he persisted in the effort to realize the vision I had given him. After all the work was done by Noah and his sons, I am the One who closed the door and steered the craft. I kept it from running aground or getting shipwrecked in the rising water. I guided their shelter safely to its resting spot, upright, without collision.
My arm is not shortened, nor is My strength diminished, My child. I am there with you, My dear one, and I have prepared the protection you need. Turn to Me in trust; even if you were running like Jonah, I would not reject you, for you are graven on My palms. Make your plans and develop your strategies, My love, but let it be known that you are depending on Me for wisdom. I will keep you safe, whether you have a mountain between you and your enemy, or whether they have entered the mouth of the cave you are sheltering in. I am steering the ark of your sanctuary; you feed those I have put in your responsibility, and I will guide your craft clear of shipwreck. The knowledge of the glory of the Lord shall fill the earth as the waters cover the sea.

May you know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose, for those God foreknew He also predestined to be conformed to the likeness of His Son, and those He predestined, He also called; those He called, He also justified; those He justified, He also glorified. Romans 8

May you rest in the knowledge that if God is for you, who can be against you? For He Who did not spare His own Son, but gave Him up for us all, how will He not also graciously give you all things? Who can bring any charge against those whom God has chosen? Since God justifies, who can condemn? Since it is Jesus Who died, and was raised to life, and is interceding for you at God's right hand, who shall separate you from the love of Christ? Romans 8

May you be convinced that in trouble, hardship, persecution, famine, nakedness, danger, or sword that you are more than a conqueror through Him Who loves you, for neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation will be able to separate you from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 8

When you pursue the spiritual adversaries of your soul, may you overtake them and not turn back till they are destroyed by crushing them so they cannot rise when Christ makes them fall beneath your feet. Psalm 18

May you destroy your spiritual foes when God arms you with strength for battle and causes your spiritual enemies to turn their backs in flight when they cry for help but discover there is no one to save them. Psalm 18

May you beat your spiritual foes as fine as dust borne on the wind and pour them out like mud in the streets, for God has delivered you from their attacks and put you in authority over the principalities, making them subject to the King of kings as they cringingly bow down in obedience when they come trembling from their strongholds. Psalm 18

May you give praise to your Rock, the Lord Who lives, and exalt God your Savior Who avenges you, subduing principalities and saving you from your enemies for He has exalted you above your foes and rescued you from violent men. Psalm 18

May you praise the Lord among the nations and sing praises to His name for He gives His favored great victories and shows unfailing kindness to His chosen. Psalm 18
