The Prayerful Word - August 05

  • Psalm 56:4 In God, whose word I praise, in God I have put my trust; I shall not be afraid. What can mere man do to me?

Romans 5:5 Hope does not disappoint us, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit that has been given to us.

Romans 8:15 The Spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear again; rather, the Spirit you received brought about your adoption to sonship. And by Him we cry, “Abba, Father.”

Romans 8:17 Now if we are children, then we are heirs--heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in His sufferings in order that we may also share in His glory.

Colossians 3:5 So kill (deaden, deprive of power) the evil desire lurking in your members [those animal impulses and all that is earthly in you that is employed in sin]: sexual vice, impurity, sensual appetites, unholy desires, and all greed {and} covetousness, for that is idolatry (the deifying of self and other created things instead of God).

Ephesians 4:32 Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.

May you be confident and reassured that the word which God has spoken will come to pass. It will occur in His time, to establish His will, for He watches over His word to perform it, even if mountains must be moved and hearts of leaders must be changed. Ezra 1

May your heart be moved by God to obey the call for the rebuilding and restoration of His temple, His body, His bride. Ezra 1

May you turn from the philosophy of this age and the common “wisdom” that is understood by the cultures of the world lest the idea of Christ, crucified, seem to be foolishness to you, as it is to them, but may you seek after and desire the wisdom of God by which you will find the power of God, which is Christ, crucified and risen. 1 Corinthians 1

May you rejoice in the foolishness of God, which is wiser than man's wisdom, and the weakness of God, which is stronger than man's strength, for in God is found life through death, and strength in mercy, and forgiveness for sin. 1 Corinthians 1

May you rejoice in your lack of things of this world, and in your lack of respect from the wise of this world, and in your lack of position among the strong of this world, for in your lowly, foolish, weak condition, because you have nothing of yourself about which to boast, Christ Jesus can become your wisdom from God – your righteousness, holiness and redemption. 1 Corinthians 1

May your testimony to others not be filled with wise and persuasive words, but with a demonstration of the Spirit's power, so that their faith might not rest on men's wisdom but on God's power. 1 Corinthians 2

Do not deceive yourself, My child, or be deceived by those who would steal your reward by speaking words in My name that I have not given them.
My love is toward all men, for they are My creative handiwork and My breath has placed life within them. But I desire willing obedience, not forced slavery; that is why I have given free will to each soul and released them. If your heart within you responds to My love which is shed abroad through creation, I receive you as you turn and draw toward Me.
If your heart does not heed My call, loving your self and your own will more than Me, you are of your father the devil and will choose to be influenced by and follow after his will, thinking it is your own.
My sheep know My voice, and another’s they will not follow. As you draw ever nearer to Me, I reveal more of My majesty to you as you grow and mature in My Spirit and Word, letting your pride and self-importance melt away.
You come to understand that you are part of My family; you step up to your obligations to love and serve your brethren in My name and by My Spirit. You mature to where you can see that by serving My people, you are serving Me; by ministering to My lambs, you are ministering to Me.
As you empty yourself and are poured out on the altar of sacrifice for others, you come to know the fellowship of My suffering and attain to the power of My resurrection. Those who suffer in the body according to My will, yielding their members to Me as Lord, are done with sin; it is no longer their master. To whom you yield your body in service, to that power do you become a slave. You have died to your previous life and are no longer subject to your former master.
Just as My sacrificial obedience to the will of the Father opened the door for any who will receive My gift, destroying the power of the enemy who for so long had used fear to bar the way, so let your living sacrifice guide others to Me; I am the Door that leads to the Father. Let your love be without hypocrisy, not giving a false impression, but let the real motivation and intent of your heart be the pure and sincere love of God.
Abhor evil, even as the Father detests evil, for it is based in rebellion to His will and rejects His love and His life. Though the world says evil is good, and good is evil, to live sacrificially in Me is to have the courage of conviction to conform yourself to My word and My mind.
By clinging to Me, not halfheartedly but resolutely, the intents of your will, the thoughts of your mind, the meditations of your heart, the words of your mouth, the deeds of your hands, and the steps of your feet will be guided by My Spirit and form a living sacrifice, acceptable to Me.

May you call on the Lord when your heart says to you, “Seek His face!” for He will hear your voice and answer you with mercy. Psalm 27

May you serve the Lord and seek to obey Him that He will not turn you from Him in anger or hide His face from you, but help you and accept you without rejection, for He is your Savior. Psalm 27

May you desire to learn the way of the Lord, for He will lead you in a straight path because of your oppressors. Psalm 27

May the Lord not turn you over to the desire of your foes though false witnesses rise up against you, breathing out violence. Psalm 27

May you be confident of this: You will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living; therefore, be strong and take heart as you wait for the Lord, Psalm 27

May you wait for the Lord to deliver you, choosing not to pay another back for any wrong. Proverbs 20:22

May you stand strong in the Lord's righteousness and compassion, not being hypocritical or changing to meet others' expectations, for the Lord detests double standards and dishonest scales do not please Him. Proverbs 20:23
