The Prayerful Word - August 11

  • Romans 8:15 You did not receive a spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you have received a spirit of adoption.

Romans 8:11 And if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, he who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit, who lives in you.

Matthew 7:12 So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets.

Psalm 34:18 The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.

Romans 9:25 As he says in Hosea: “I will call them ‘my people’ who are not my people; and I will call her ‘my loved one’ who is not my loved one,”

Psalm 119:165-166 Great peace have those who love Your law, and nothing causes them to stumble. 166 Lord, I hope for Your salvation, and I do Your commandments.

May you mourn and feel sorrow for the things that burden God's heart, seeking in prayer and through the scriptures for the part He has for you to do. Nehemiah 1

May your prayer before God day and night be for His servants, with confession and repentance, that His ear be attentive and His eyes open to the plight of His people, for He Who is the great and awesome God of heaven keeps His covenant of love with those who love Him and obey His commands. Nehemiah 1

May you delight in reverencing God's name as you lift your prayer for success today in the work of the Lord to the One Who has redeemed His people by His great strength and preserved His servants by His mighty hand. Nehemiah 1

May you keep God's counsel in your heart for motivation, and wait on Him for the right time, and the right people, before sharing your vision. Nehemiah 2

May you willingly do the work at hand, gladly using the resources God has given you, whether great or small, adding your part to the overall effort as God's vision is revealed to His Body. Nehemiah 2

Walk with Me this day, My child, in the full knowledge of My grace which grants to you My righteousness. Yield your will to Mine, My true one, and let the Spirit of God align you with the Word of God. Let your desire be conformed to what I desire, and your purpose be set to My purpose. How can we walk together unless we agree on the goal, the destination, the route, even on the pace at which we travel?
I could bring you immediately to the destination, My special one, but you would be so very unprepared for it. The journey we take day to day through this life is simply one of convenience to grant you the time for the inward journey you need to take.
The daily discipline of spiritual exercise and obedience that builds your strength also develops your character, shaping My image upon your heart as you obey Me, and showing your citizenship in My kingdom.
Do not resist the work of My Spirit in your heart, your mind, your every aspect of life, My love, but enjoy the beauty around you as we journey, and let Me pour Myself into you.
Consider how a landowner will dress a choice piece of land according to the vision he can see for it, choosing a hillside to plant a vineyard, removing the rocks from the rows, building a wall about it, digging a pit for harvest that will release the enjoyment of the fruit, laboring long before receiving the actual benefit. Just so do I with you, My precious one, for I see the beauty that can be brought out in your life.
Open your life to Me and allow My Word and My Spirit to saturate your every daypart.

May you retain the place in life that the Lord has assigned you and to which God has called you, for in God, obedience is what counts, not status, and He places you as He wills, so that you may be responsible to Him. 1 Corinthians 7

May you fear the Lord and take refuge in the shelter of His presence, for He hides you from the intrigues of men, keeping you safe from accusing tongues, because of the greatness of His goodness which He has stored up for you. Psalm 31

May you cry for mercy and call for help to the Lord, to Whom be praise, for He shows His wonderful love to you, even when you feel that the enemy has cut you off from God's sight. Psalm 31

May you be strong and take heart as you hope in the Lord and love Him for He preserves the faithful, but pays back the proud in full. Psalm 31

May you flee from and reject anything which encourages haughty eyes and develops a proud heart, which is the lamp of the wicked, for it is sin; may you seek for and embrace the wisdom and understanding from God, through His Spirit and His Bride, which promotes humble eyes and grows a meek heart, allowing the light of God to shine forth, for it is of faith. Proverbs 21:4
