The Prayerful Word - September 29

  • Isaiah 43:16,18-19 Thus says the Lord … Do not remember the former things, or consider the things of old. I am about to do a new thing.

Psalm 32:8 The psalmist wrote, “I will instruct you and teach you the way you should go; I will counsel you with My eye upon you.”

Ephesians 1:19-20 [God’s] power for us who believe … is the same as the mighty strength [God] exerted when He raised Christ from the dead.

Psalm 143:8 Cause me to hear Your lovingkindness in the morning, for in You do I trust; cause me to know the way in which I should walk, for I lift up my soul to You.

Proverbs 3:5-7 Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; 6 in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight. 7 Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the LORD and shun evil

Hebrews 10:23 Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for He who promised is faithful.

May you obediently and humbly labor at the task set before you, building up and preparing the ground, making a path for others to walk, removing debris and rocks that can stumble, through the long hours and heat of the day in the heart-breaking struggle, for the High and Lofty One, Who lives forever and Whose Name is holy, lives also with those who are contrite and lowly in spirit, in order to revive the spirit of the lowly and the heart of the contrite. Isaiah 57

May you know that the Lord has seen your ways, but will heal you, guiding you and restoring comfort to you, creating praise on your lips even though you have been mourning your situation, for He speaks peace to those far and near, bringing healing to their hearts and minds. Isaiah 57

May you shout aloud like a trumpet, not holding back, but declaring to God's people their error and their misunderstanding as they ask for answers from God but do as they please, living as they choose rather than in obedience, not feeling and expressing true sorrow and repentance for sin. Isaiah 58

May you follow what is acceptable to the Lord, and seek the results He has chosen: to loose the chains of injustice and untie the cords of oppressive burdens, to set the crushed free and break every yoke, to share your food with the hungry and provide the poor wanderer with shelter, to clothe the naked, and not to turn away from your own flesh and blood, for then your salvation will come like the dawn and your healing will quickly appear, as your righteousness goes before you and the glory of the Lord will be your rear guard and then, when you call on the Lord, He will answer your cry for help, saying, “Here am I.” Isaiah 58

May you do away with oppression, malicious talk, and the pointing finger, spending yourself instead on behalf of the hungry, to meet the needs of the oppressed, then your light will rise in the darkness and your night will be come like the noonday, for the Lord will guide you always, satisfying your needs in a desert land, strengthening your frame, making you like a well-watered garden and a spring whose waters never fail. Isaiah 58

May you desire to please the Lord, having a heart to follow His ways, delighting to do what He does and say what He says, giving honor to the Honorable One, then you will find your joy in the Lord and He will cause you to ride on the heights of the land and to feast on the riches of His inheritance, for the mouth of the Lord has spoken it. Isaiah 58

May you be confident that the arm of the Lord is not too short to save, nor His ear too dull to hear, for when you call for justice, He is swift to answer, but iniquities and guilt, lies and evil deeds, cause Him to turn His face and not respond, as the way of peace is not followed and the path of justice is abandoned. Isaiah 59

May you look for justice and seek deliverance, desiring to walk in the light rather than in deep shadows, stumbling at midday, moaning like doves and growing ever weaker, for as you acknowledge your iniquities and confess your offenses, repenting of rebellion and treachery against the Lord, and rejecting lies conceived in the heart, justice will no longer be driven back and righteousness will draw near, honesty will come in and truth will stand strong in the streets. Isaiah 59

May you respond to the Lord in His desire to have justice and find intercessors in the land, people seeking His salvation for those they love and desiring His righteousness for the ones they care for, those willing to put on His armor and wear the garments of vengeance, wrapped in the cloak of zeal, ready to repay the spiritual powers that stand against God's will, and willing to bring retribution to the spiritual forces that attack those whom God loves, for the Redeemer will come to those who love Him, to all who repent of their sins. Isaiah 59

May you accept and walk in His covenant to put His Spirit upon you and His words in your mouth, that they will not depart from you or your children from this time on and forever. Isaiah 59

Come to Me as you are, My child. Do not wait to make preparations or seek to improve yourself before presenting yourself to Me, for you have no strength to do so, no power to change yourself, no means to rescue yourself from where you are and what you are in. I am your answer, and I am your Deliverer; cry to Me for help, My anxious one, and you will receive all that you need.
As it was at the beginning, so it is even now. After you have walked with Me, known Me, fellowshipped in the spirit with Me, when you find yourself in need of rescue, having stepped off the path and ending up stuck in the miry clay, do not turn from Me.
Why would you depart from Me at the time of your greatest need of Me? Is not My grace sufficient? Is not My mercy acceptable? Is not My compassion broad enough? Will you be able to surprise Me with some weakness or foible that I have never known, or could not imagine? Cry to Me in your need, My precious one, for I am already there waiting for you to turn and see My hands outstretched to you.
Know My love for you, My dear one, in that I have laid My life down for you. Is there more that I could have done? Why would I now hold anything back? All I have, I have given to you, for in giving, I have received you. I ask only that you give, likewise, to your brothers the same measure of mercy, of grace, of love, of meekness, of gentleness that you have received that you each may know Me in My fullness.

May you receive grace and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ as you continue to partner in the spread of the gospel with confidence that He Who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus. Philippians 1

May your love abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight, so that you may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless until the day of Christ, filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ to the glory and praise of God. Philippians 1

May you take refuge in the Lord, Who will never let you be put to shame, for He will rescue you and deliver you in His righteousness, turning His ear to you to save you. Psalm 71

May you grasp that the Lord is your rock of refuge and your fortress to which you can always go, for He gives the command to save you and deliver you from the grasp of evil and cruel men. Psalm 71

May your mouth always be filled with praise to the Sovereign Lord as you declare His splendor all day long, for He has been your hope and confidence since your youth, having relied on Him from birth to be your strong refuge. Psalm 71

May you count on the faithfulness of the Lord to remain close to you and come quickly to help even when you are old and your strength is gone, for He will not cast you away or forsake you as your enemies whisper to you, but He will cover those spiritual foes, who want to harm you, with scorn and disgrace. Psalm 71

May you always have hope in the Lord and praise Him more and more, telling of His righteousness and His salvation all day long, though you cannot fathom its extent or know its measure as you proclaim the mighty acts of the Sovereign Lord and His righteousness alone. Psalm 71

May you be comforted that, though you have seen troubles, many and bitter, the Lord always restores your life again, bringing you up from the depths and increasing your honor, always comforting you in His Spirit and His Word once again. Psalm 71

May you praise God for His faithfulness and righteous acts, and sing praise to the Holy One, shouting for joy, for He has redeemed you and those who wanted to harm you have been put to shame and confusion. Psalm 71
