This teaching has a long introduction by necessity, but don’t fret. I will give plenty of scripture to support everything that’s said.
Have you ever heard the little verse “Let the Redeemed of the Lord Say So”? The majority of the people who have ever sung this little stanza have no idea what it means. At the end of the song, we all sing “I’m Redeemed, I’m Redeemed, I’m Redeemed”. Well that’s only one-third correct and that’s where I got the title for this teaching entitled “One Is and Two are yet to Be”.
So now I should already have you scratching your head saying, what is He talking about. Well we are three part beings. We are Body, Soul, and Spirit. Our Spirit is perfect. Our Spirit is Redeemed. Our Spirit is righteous. Our Spirit is Holy. We have the same Spirit in us that is in Christ Jesus. It’s the same Spirit with all power that raised Jesus from the dead. However, our body and soul have not yet been redeemed to a perfect state. There’s a difference from being purchased and being redeemed.
Now that’s a lot already, and some of you are saying “Mark, you are crazy to make those kinds of statements”. Well, you would be right if I were making them based on my own opinions, but let’s just see what God says about this and you’ll realize I have simply presented His truth to you.
Before we get there, let me make another statement that will lead you to believe I’ve lost my mind. Now don’t stop studying this teaching based on what I’m about to say, but stay curious to find out how I’m going to get out of trouble based on what I’m about to say.
Here it is. God is not healing people today. God is not saving people today. “What are you saying? That’s heresy”. No, it’s truth, because what I’m saying is God has already done His part. Jesus said “It Is Finished”. God has already provided for everything you will ever need in this life and that includes making your Spirit perfect in Him and sealing it. Now it’s up to us to receive our salvation and to receive our healing and to receive all the promises of God that are already available to us. Study my teaching “You’ve Already Got It” on this website for further proof of this.
Here’s a quick example. 1 Peter 2:24 says that by His stripes you were already healed. Well if you were already healed, there’s no way you will be healed, because you are already healed. So when you hear people pray that they know that God is going to heal you, they are starting from a position of unbelief and their prayer is in opposition with God’s truth. They are in religious error and are in effect calling the truth of scripture to be in error. Basically, what you’re trying to do is get what you’ve already got. John Sheasby says that God cannot give to you as a reward, that which is already yours through inheritance.
If we will just do as Paul tells us to in Romans 12:2 and renew our minds to the truth of this, it will revolutionize the way you receive. You’ll stop begging God and start appropriating what has already been provided by God. Also, you’ll get set free from guilt and condemnation when you make mistakes or sin as some would like to call it. When you believe you have to petition God in prayer by begging Him to do something, you are starting from a position of unbelief. Unbelief is the death nail that keeps you from entering His rest.
Here’s the problem. Most christians believe that through Jesus they are headed toward victory. They believe that if they fast and pray and seek God that they can obtain victory. So that puts them in a position of fighting toward victory or for victory. Praying and asking God for what He has already done. Seems like they are always asking God to do something in the future, rather than declaring and receiving what God has already done. Again, It Is Finished and Jesus is seated at the right hand of God. He’s done because there’s nothing left for Him to do. He’s done it all.
We proceed once to the cross for victory, but we proceed from the cross in victory. I didn’t say we forget the cross. It is the foundation of christianity, but we do not camp out there and keep begging God to do things that have already been accomplished and completed at the cross. The victory was obtained on the front side of Calvary, but the victory is enjoyed on the backside of Calvary.
God has already healed everyone who has needed, needs now or will need healing. He’s already provided salvation for everyone who has been saved, is being saved now and will be saved in the future. He’s already forgiven and forgotten every single sin of those who are in Christ Jesus that have sinned, are sinning now or will sin in the future.
God released all the power through the atonement of the Lord Jesus Christ at the finished work of the cross and He’s not healing, delivering or setting anyone free today, because He has already done it. It Is Finished. How many times do I have to restate that phrase that Jesus spoke and declared at Calvary? Until you get it.
Now people will say that can’t be true, because I need healing today and I’m not experiencing it. Well, you may not have received it yet, but that doesn’t change the truth that God has already provided it. It is the unredeemed soul (mind) that prevents us from realizing all that God has provided for us and to us.
Here’s a good illustration. In this day and age, we have WiFi service that assist us with getting to the internet and a plethora of information. Now that WiFi signal or connection has already been provided and is available through various service providers, but you do not have access to it until you connect to it and receive what is already there. You connecting and receiving that signal is not when it started, it was already there available to be received. It’s the same with radio or TV signals. They are already out there just waiting for someone to tune into them and receive them. When you turn on your TV set is not the moment that the signals are activated. They are already there just waiting for someone to receive them. Get the picture?
Okay. So what’s the problem? Well, that’s where the three part being comes into play. We have already got everything we will ever need. The spirit within us knows that truth, but it can only be transferred to our body and soul when we receive it by renewing our minds. It’s just a matter of releasing what God has already put in us and in our lives rather than thinking that you have to fight to get God to do something.
That brings me to the difficulty I’ve had with this whole concept of Spiritual warfare and Intercessory prayer. Now I whole heartedly agree with those tenants of christianity and that they are certainly necessary, but I question this whole concept of trying to break through an atmosphere of the demonic to get our prayers to God and begging Him to do something.
Why would we even think that when God lives within us. It’s Christ in you the hope of Glory. He lives in us and to try and use some type of prayer jargon that borders on begging to get God to do something and pulling the answer out of heaven is just wrong. We don’t pray upward to try and pull answers down, we declare from our seat in heaven and manifest the answers here on earth. It’s His will being done on earth as it is in heaven.
So again, we are not fighting to gain the victory or win the victory. We already have the victory and we are coming from the victory. Victory is ours today, not something we have to go and fight for, but something we get to enjoy. We fight from a position of victory not for victory. It is much easier to defend victory than it is to obtain victory.
Okay. Let’s get to the scriptures that show us that everything we need we already have in Christ and God has already provided it all. Look at this scripture in Ephesians 1:3. “All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realms because we are united with Christ.”
Now if you just read that verse you will miss the absolute declaration of truth and power in that verse. Look at that phrase “who HAS blessed us with EVERY spiritual blessing in the heavenly realms because WE ARE united with Christ”.
Did you see that? It’s past tense and it’s all conclusive. It is saying that God has already released all blessings upon us. Now hang on because it just gets worse.
So, you don’t need God to bless you, heal you, or pour out His blessings upon you, because He’s already done it. Once your saved, the rest of your christian life is not trying to figure out how to get God to bless you, the rest of your christian life is seeking and searching out the deeper truths of His promises to discover what He has already done for you.
We read in Ephesians 1:18 that Paul was not trying to teach you how to acquire anything from God, but that you would get a revelation of what you already have. Look at it. “I pray that your hearts will be flooded with light so that you can understand the confident hope he has given to those he called—his holy people who are his rich and glorious inheritance.
Also, look here at Philemon 6. “And I am praying that you will put into action the generosity that comes from your faith as you understand and experience all the good things we have in Christ”.
What that verse says is your faith will never be effective until you understand and experience ALL THE GOOD THINGS we have in Christ. Not all the things you can beg for, or try to achieve, or keep rules to gain, but already have in Christ Jesus. It’s then that your faith will become effective.
So let us continue in Ephesians 1. We’ll put the scriptures here and then comment.
4 Even before he made the world, God loved us and chose us in Christ to be holy and without fault in his eyes.
Wow, wow, wow. When did God love us? Remember, it’s past tense. It was before He made the world. Not only did He love us but He chose us in Christ. Keep studying because He didn’t just choose us, but He chose us to be holy and without fault in His eyes. Come On.
5 God decided in advance to adopt us into his own family by bringing us to himself through Jesus Christ. This is what he wanted to do, and it gave him great pleasure.
Now look closely. When did God decide? IN ADVANCE!!!. What did He decide in advance? To Adopt us into His own family. How? By bringing us to Himself through Jesus Christ. Why did He do that? Well keep studying. It’s because He WANTED to and it gave Him pleasure. Woo Hoo.
6 So we praise God for the glorious grace he has poured out on us who belong to his dear Son.
7 He is so rich in kindness and grace that he purchased our freedom with the blood of his Son and forgave our sins.
Don’t lose track of the truth that all of this is already done. It’s past tense. We’ve already got it all. He purchase and forgave. PAST TENSE. Quit begging God to do it, because He already has. Not only do we have redemption here, but it is an eternal redemption. Hebrews 9:12 says He secured our redemption forever.
8 He has showered his kindness on us, along with all wisdom and understanding.
Wait a religious minute. Did that say He showered all wisdom and understanding on us? YES IT DID. Quit listening to the religious legalist who try to keep you in bondage through fear and control. You have all power and authority and wisdom in Christ Jesus. 1 John 2:20 says that in your spirit you know the truth, because the Holy One has given you His Spirit. It’s not you that knows all things, but the Spirit of God that is within you knows all things. As you walk in the Spirit, all the truth that is in you in Christ Jesus will come out of you.
There is really no good stopping point in this teaching, but I think you've got a lot of truth already to study. We will pick back up in verse 9 of Ephesians 1 in part two of this teaching. You can study ahead from verse 9 through 20 if you like, and in part two we will reveal the mysteries and truths behind these scriptures. Until then, Grace and Peace.
