This is part 3 of the authority of the believer and the grace of God. So picking up where we left off. Religion says, you have to believe, but then you have to do something also. That’s wrong. My purpose is to bring you the truth, because the bible says it’s the knowledge of the truth that will make you free.
Religion even gets that wrong. Religion says He’ll set you free. That’s not what the bible says. In John 8:32 it says “You will know the truth, and the truth will make you free”. So it’s the truth you know that makes you free.
Well if the knowledge of the truth makes you free, then it’s error that binds you. All error will lead you away from faith in Jesus. Twisting God’s word is the devil’s theology. If he can get you so busy working to please God, you won’t realize the authority you have in Him.
When you understand the grace of God, you’ll realize that God loves you independent of your actions. Not because of yourself, but in spite of yourself. GOD LOVES YOU!
Romans 5:17. This is in the Easy to Read Version. “One man sinned, and so death ruled all people because of that one man. But now some people accept God’s full grace and his great gift of being made right. Surely they will have true life and rule through the one man, Jesus Christ”. Another version reads the abundance of grace and the gift of righteousness. Righteousness is a gift received by grace through faith. You can’t work for it or earn it. God gave it, because he loves us and because we love Jesus. The problem is only SOME will accept and receive it.
Romans 8:14-17.
We see in these two verses that first of all it’s up to us to LET God’s spirit lead us. Not let the religious-legalistic spirit lead us. It’s not following man-made rules or living up to a set of traditional church standards. It’s the leading of the Spirit, and the Spirit of God will not make us slaves, but makes us God’s chosen children.
16 And the Spirit himself speaks to our spirits and makes us sure that we are God’s children.
When you’re led of God’s Spirit you can hear him speak to you. As He speaks to you He will convict you that you are righteous and that you are God’s children.
17 If we are God’s children, we will get the blessings God has for his people. He will give us all that he has given Christ. But we must suffer like Christ suffered. Then we will be able to share his glory.
Now right here, the religious crowd pipe up with their "ya but" ministry and say, "see....right there it says we have to suffer". Well, if you would study the bible instead of just read it you would know that word suffer does not mean be beaten, die, and hang on a cross. What it means is we will be ridiculed and taunted by unbelievers because we believe Jesus and have decided to follow Him.
The Apostle Paul makes this clear throughout his Epistles from Romans to Philemon. He discusses suffering for Christ and suffering with Jesus, but properly aligns it with being criticized, interrupted, shouted down, and kicked out of places whenever Jesus was being preached.
If we don’t know who we are, we won’t exercise our authority. We are heirs and joint heirs. Verse 17 says everything God gives to his Son, He gives to us. It’s ours too.
Ephesians 1:15-23. Study this for yourselves. It’s actually a Holy Ghost inspired prayer. In verse 17 Paul declares that we will know what we’ve done, know who we are, and know what’s to come. It takes the Holy Ghost to reveal this. It’s not just information, it’s revelation that produces manifestation.
In verse 18 the declaration is that we will have spiritual eyes. We see with them that it’s His calling, His inheritance, His power, it’s His name that He shares with us all.
Ephesians 2:6 – “Yes, it is because we are a part of Christ Jesus that God raised us from death and seated us together with him in the heavenly places”.
God not only raised Jesus up, but he also raised us up. The reason is because the body and head must be together. Understand, this does not mean physically, but together positionally. Where? In heavenly places. That’s where we are. It isn’t just some fancy theological scripture. It’s truth. Who placed us there? God did. He seated us together with Jesus in heavenly places. Take your rightful position and act like an heir and joint heir with Jesus.
Ephesians 6:10-12.
10 To end my letter I tell you, be strong in the Lord and in his great power. 11 Wear the full armor of God. Wear God’s armor so that you can fight against the devil’s clever tricks. 12 Our fight is not against people on earth. We are fighting against the rulers and authorities and the powers of this world’s darkness. We are fighting against the spiritual powers of evil in the heavenly places.
Verse 12 spells out the problem with most Christians. They wrestle not. We have a spiritual battle, but the fight is fixed. I lost round 1…it ain’t over. I lost round 2…it ain’t over. I lost round 3…it ain’t over. Stand. He’s going down no matter what the weapon is. I want you to know that we win??? It’s time we start demanding what’s rightfully ours. Not from Jesus, but from the enemy.
There is plenty of truth here in this part 3, but come back for the last part (4). Although the lid on the truth of the Believer's Authority has already been sealed, part 4 will double wrap it. Grace and Peace.
