We left off part 1 with the “Ya but” ministry saying, “but GOD DOES CHOOSE NOT TO HEAL”? Really? Where does it say that in scripture. It’s too late to make that statement, because He chose over 2,000 years ago to make a purchase that included everything. It is finished. He chose to heal us over 2,000 years ago.
I bought a brand new Lawn Tractor from Sears years ago. Paid cash, IN FULL, for it. Done deal. If I go back to Sears and say to them. I choose not to purchase this Lawn Tractor. They will say to me. You can drive it off a cliff, burn it, give it away, but you can’t decide not to purchase it, because you already purchased it a while ago. How can you decide not to buy what you’ve already paid for?
Over 2,000 years ago Jesus made a purchase. He does not decide not to heal people today. The decision to heal was made over 2,000 years ago. The same goes for forgiveness. He purchased forgiveness over 2,000 years ago. He doesn’t have to decide to forgive today, because He already did. So quit asking.
Gal 5:1 says it is for freedom that Christ set us free and then warns us not to be subject again to the yoke of slavery. Also, Col 2:10 says we are complete in Jesus. Still need more truth that God does not allow or cause sickness. Well then you’ll have to dig for it on your own. There’s enough truth in this little writing to blow all the naysayers, legalists, and religionists off their tilted stools.
I see God’s Hand as always being Protective, NOT AFFLICTIVE. In fact, in studying the NAMES OF GOD, I didn’t find the one that said I AM THE GOD WHO AFFLICTS YOU. That would be Jehovah Who??? In other words, what I am trying to say is, you can’t smoke for 40 years, get lung cancer and say God is punishing me. No!!! There’s a warning on the package, just as God warned us that certain behavior would be a poor choice because it could lead to sickness, disease, death, etc.
If you lay your hand on a burner that is turned on you will get burned. God didn’t do it, you did. Having homosexual relationships will lead to AIDS, most likely, but that’s not God punishing you, it’s an immutable law that said when you step outside my pattern for healthy and safe living, you step outside my protective covering. It’s not that He won’t Protect you, He can’t because You won’t allow Him to. You made a choice and He will defend your right to free choice even when it’s wrong or harmful to you.
What did I just say? You missed it I’m sure. Let me put it in real clear text. THE ONE THING GOD WILL ALWAYS ALLOW IS FOR YOU TO HAVE FREE CHOICE. That’s grace. Because grace or freedom isn’t free unless you have a choice. So make your choices wisely and don’t blame the consequences of your poor choices on God.
God does not cause or allow sickness to come upon you. What He does allow is for all of us to have a choice. So, if you choose to abuse your body and it results in sickness, do not blame God. He didn’t force you to smoke those cigarettes, jump that ramp with your motorcycle, dive off that high cliff, drink too much alcohol, have sex with the wrong type of person, or any of the other bad choices we might make. You chose to do that and thereby CAUSE OR ALLOW the consequences of those choices to bring you into sickness. The Good News is God is always ready to set you free from all of that. Grace and Peace.
