Grace is what God has already done for us independent of any worth or value on our part. If it’s tied to some goodness on our part, then it’s not true grace. God, by His Grace, has already provided everything we will ever need. Our faith does not move God.
If God hasn’t already moved by His Grace then your faith can’t make Him do it. Faith simply appropriates what God has already provided. It’s like prayer. It is not designed to convince God to change your circumstances. It’s designed to prepare you to be involved in God’s activity. Prayer and faith are designed to adjust you to God’s will. Not to adjust God to your will. Believing does not move God. Believing moves you to receive what God has already done.
Someone ought to be shouting right now. But I know why you’re not. Because we’re thinking “It can’t be this simple”. Also, if this is true I have to give up all my beliefs about performing for God.
Many can’t receive it because they are trapped in their five senses. Sight, taste, smell, touch, hearing. Here’s a truth. Television signals are always broadcasting, but you can’t see, taste, smell, touch or hear the siganls. Yet you have total faith that if you dial into a particular frequency/channel, you will RECEIVE a picture.
Now the signals are always there broadcasting whether you tune into them or not. It is the same way with God’s provision. The Lord has already blessed us with all things. They’re already there. The problem is in our reception.
Your faith didn’t make God move to provide salvation for you. It was provided by Grace before you were born. All of the burden to produce was upon God where it should be. Your only requirement was to believe. Your believing didn’t move God. Rather, it moved you.
Many people today believe God beholds our faith and when it reaches a certain level, then He moves to answer our prayers. Lord I’ve fasted, prayed, gone to church, paid my tithes. Will you heal me now? That’s putting faith in what you’ve done, instead of in what God has already done.
We came to God not on the basis of what we did, or with some bargaining chip of some kind to present to Him. That’s nothing more than Chocolates and Roses. We came just as we were, and put our dependence on His Grace to Save us.
That is exactly how we need to act in faith. Totally dependent on Him, and what He’s already done. Col 2:6 in the “Living Bible” reads “And now just as you trusted Christ to save you, trust him, too, for each day’s problems; live in vital union with him”.
God is not withholding anything from you. God is not honored by me denying what Jesus has done for me. Jesus took what I deserve to give me what He deserves. It is not pride or arrogant for me to receive what He has done for me. It would actually be arrogant for me to reject what I deserve.
Remember at the beginning of this teaching I stated our burden is to see people set free from religion, legalism, guilt, performance, the tyranny of others, the tyranny of self, and the “have to’s” and “shalt not’s”. I also stated that was a large list, but it’s easily overcome with a revelation of the great grace of God.
God has given us this great revelation of His inexhaustible grace. We place a high value on the revelations we have been given and boldly speak forth the truth, because any revelation you receive from the Lord that is not shared, serves only to make you more religious. Grace and Peace.
