Acts of Kindness

  •

Put on then, as God's chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassionate hearts, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience, (Colossians 3:12 ESV)

We live in a very rural area where everyone knows each other. So far in this pandemic, we have been spared the brunt of what is happening in our state, our country and our world. But even with the stress of our new routines, we are experiencing and witnessing God’s love in our community. Today, was a perfect example.

As you may know, toilet paper is quite the item to have and for some reason it is now a rarity to find, even in our small community. However, a couple in our neighborhood came to our aid when we were unable to help ourselves. They willingly gave some to us until we can replenish on our own.

This afternoon, another couple came to our door and gave us some items to enjoy while we are remaining home, lifting our spirits during this difficult time. Like the example earlier today, this was done as an act of friendship and kindness.

We are blessed to have such special friends! Their kindness is simply an act of love and we are truly grateful. During this challenging period, please look for opportunities to show kindness and help others. It’s through helping others that we have the opportunity to demonstrate God’s love in tangible ways.

I shall pass through this world but once. Any good thing therefore that I can do, or any kindness that I can show to any human being, let me do it now. Let me not defer it or neglect it, for I shall not pass this way again.
