The Spirit's Presence

  •

Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God?  (1 Corinthians 6:19 NIV)

As believers, we have the Holy Spirit living within us to help us in everything that we do. The Holy Spirit helps us to interpret and apply the Scriptures in our daily lives, guides us on what to do and protects us from harm. The Holy Spirit even completes our prayers when we don’t have the thoughts and words ourselves.

We can call on the presence of the Holy Spirit to help us keep calm and carry on in the difficult times that we are facing with the coronavirus pandemic. This is not a time to look at everything in despair, but a time to stay consistent growing and sharing our faith.

Even though we are currently practicing social distancing, we can stay connected with others through social media and simple phone calls. And through these connections we can encourage one another with God’s promises and assurances. God is in charge and He will see us through the present times.

"Let us thank God heartily as often as we pray that we have His Spirit in us to teach us to pray. Thanksgiving will draw our hearts out to God and keep us engaged with Him; it will take our attention from ourselves and give the Spirit room in our hearts."
