Overview
Memorial Day Weekend, five years ago, Mark Stallins announced on Facebook that he was going to Ft Logan National Cemetery to perform TAPS for his dad. When he arrived he discovered that his friends and shipmates had asked him if he would play for their loved ones as well. Mark accepted the requests, twenty minutes became two and a half hours later, he performed for 13 loved ones. As he searched for the headstone of Danny P. Dietz, Renee Thede Nellis watched him, she knew that something was about to happen, though she did not know what. As Mark started to play, Renee took the picture that would change both of their lives. From that weekend, an event was born, 13 had now become 219. This Memorial Day weekend, National Honor Tour honored 301 individual heroes and 265 on rollcall. We are growing, our vision is to see this event go Nationwide. Throughout the year, we will add to this site to promote future events and to continue to honor those who have served and their families.
