This week we have 2 Parashats Tazria - She Conceives and Metzora - Leper. We learn about the Priest and the other things outside of Sacrifices they do. We read that the Priest works in the role of a Doctor. When a man or woman had a skin issue wether it be a rash or disease they would go to the Priest for the diagnosis. They would be told wether they were healed and if they were allowed to return to the community. The Priest would also have the role of building inspector. If a home had mold or mildew the Priest would determine if the home was clean after the prescribed amount of time.

The Priest’s responsibilities are more than just the work in the Temple. The Priest would engage with the community as an authority figure. Whatever the the Priest said became the judgement and had to be followed. The Priests were to stand in the Gap for God’s people.

Jesus called us Kings and Priests. We are to be all things to all people. We have the ability to speak into everyone’s life the truth of God’s Word. It doesn’t matter the position held by the ones we are called to minister too. It doesn’t matter if they are the CEO or the janitor. It does t matter if they hold the highest office in the land or if they are a homeless person on the street. We are called to stand in the Gap for the Children of God.

We have a lot of work to do. We have not been doing what we are called to do. One reason is that we have not studies to see what the Word of God has called us to do. Today we can REPENT for not being the PRIESTS we have been called to be. It is not the Pastor’s job to win the lost by himself. Everyone who calls themselves a CHRISTIAN is called a PRIEST. We have missed the call. There is a day coming in which we will give an account for what we did and what we didn’t do. Now that you have read this you will be held accountable for this word. It is time to REPENT AND GET TO WORK.
