Prayers — “God of our Lord Jesus the Anointed, Father of Glory: I call out to You on behalf of Your people. Give them minds ready to receive wisdom and revelation so they will truly know You. Open the eyes of their hearts, and let the light of Your truth flood in. Shine Your light on the hope You are calling them to embrace. Reveal to them the glorious riches You are preparing as their inheritance. Let them see the full extent of Your power that is at work in those of us who believe, and may it be done according to Your might and power. Friends, it is this same might and resurrection power that He used in the Anointed One to raise Him from the dead and to position Him at His right hand in heaven. There is nothing over Him!” (Ephesians 1:17-20, The Voice Bible)
Paul gives us examples of how he prays for those who are following Jesus! He truly has a love for the people who a few years earlier he was condemning. He truly considers they are family. He considers Timothy a son in the faith. “Timothy, you are my true spiritual son in the faith. May abundant grace, mercy, and total well-being from God the Father and the Anointed One, our Lord Jesus, be yours! (1 Timothy 1:2, TPT)
How do we pray for our family and friends? Paul gives us both examples and starter prayers for those who are in our sphere of influence!
Let’s Pray:
Daddy God, we thank You for the example of Paul's heart and prayers for the people You placed in his life. Help us to develop the same kind of love and intercession for our family, friends, and those in our sphere of influence. Give us hearts that see others as true spiritual family, and teach us to pray with the same passion and specificity that Paul demonstrated. Open our understanding of how to pray effectively for others, and let our prayers be guided by Your Spirit and Your Word. In Jesus' name, Amen.
