Jonah ran from GOD's assignment and slept on the boat during a storm because he was at peace with his rebellion. His rebellion caused GOD to send a storm and eventually get him to repent and fulfill his assignment of prophesying to Nineveh and giving them a chance to repent and turn to GOD.
Jesus and his disciples ran towards GOD's next assignment and Jesus slept on the boat during the storm because He was at peace in obedience to His Father. The storm they encountered distracted the disciples but eventually they reached their destination and cast out a legion of demons from a man who later shared the testimony of encountering Jesus with the entire town.
Sometimes the storms come to distract us from our assignment, and sometimes they come to reroute us because we've ventured away from the assignment.
We can place blame on the enemy for everything bad that happens, but sometimes our own disobedience causes the unnecessary warfare we encounter. The storms may look the same on the outside, but we must discern the source and act accordingly.
Never be at peace in your rebellion when GOD is trying to redirect you. If He tells you to shift, then shift.
Never lose your peace when you're in obedience and you know the enemy is just trying to sidetrack and distract you. If GOD says push onward, push onward.
