I was asleep at the computer today - I often get very dozy because of only short sleeps at night.
Of a sudden I saw a wreath of thorns, a bit like the one they put on Jesus’ head. I think it was a wreath, or just many thorns on branches with a blue sky background.
Immediately I began to speak in tongues – without having decided to or even thought of it.
My first reaction is that we need our mental process very clean as there are lots of thorns to sort through yet. COVID is not over yet, neither are the attacks on our way of life such as the lies that are promoted as real
Lies are as promiscuous in our culture as those hundreds of thorns I saw in the picture. Christians need to be very intimate with scripture if they are not to be taken in by them. We need to study and know scripture very well, and also ask the Lord for the rarely spoken of gift of discernment.
I think that is a gift of the watchmen on the wall who will feel a little uncomfortable with some-thing that looks good or fine on the face of things. Christians want to think well of everybody, and indeed we do love them. However this does not mean we are to absorb all their attitudes and mannerisms on automatic, or agree with everything they say. We need to agree full time with our Father, way over and above the thoughts of men.
The gift of discernment is not often discussed. We do need to discern the spirit behind everything that is said or done. Hebrews 5:14 declares “ But solid food is for the mature, for those who have their powers of discernment trained by constant practice to distinguish good from evil.” (The old example: how do you train a banker to recognise a false banknote? By having him handle individual, legitimate banknotes by the thousand. When he comes to the false note he will quickly discern a discrepancy with truth/reality. So we need to be in the same way very intimate with scripture).
What is discernment? It is the ability to judge well. We are to make judgements about the people with whom we interact and we are to recognize moral and practical consequences of our decisions. It is needed in order to know whether or not something is truly from God or in accordance with righteousness.
But the world shouts at us that we are judgemental and not to judge our fellow man. Even scripture tells us we should not judge. (That means we do not reject, assign to prison (isolation) or death (refusal to associate). We buy into this and keep quiet when often we need to speak up. They do not want us “judging” (which really means discerning) their activities and suggesting they are wrong and need to be changed.
Biblically there was a whole army that kept quiet until a little shepherd boy, who spent his days on the hills around Bethlehem in worship and playing songs of his creator, and Israel’s history, came and spoke up loud and clear, telling a certain loud-mouthed Goliath what God had planned for the one who ignorantly abuses and defies the armies of the living God. The armies were in shock. Specifically David’s brother told him to be quiet and go back home. What did he, a kid, know about army business?
But that boy was so full of the Spirit of the living God and of truth that he went right on ahead and killed that giant before their very eyes.
With current media we certainly have an army telling us to remain silent and in fact trying to gag Christians. Not only the media, but our online communications systems are heading in that direction as well with Google, Twitter and Facebook deciding what we can write on their accounts and what we cannot. The giants are real today.
But greater by far than any loud-mouth, belly aching giant is the Holy Spirit with His gift of discernment. Fear is not our motivator, but the Spirit of Truth definitely is.
Who is trying to shut you up lately? Is it your family? Your boss? The media? Your friends?
Sometimes they do it with great panache. I once went to the funeral of a dear Christian lady whose “very nice” family had left the faith. Their summary was that she was a wonderful Christian example without speaking – because they had shut her up. Where was the respect in such a statement. They honour her but will not listen to her? Yes, there is a biblical mention of a hope of converting pagan husbands by service rather than by preaching or teaching the Word. We have bought into that as if it were the Lord’s last commandment.
What was the LORD’S LAST COMMANDMENT? Go ye into all the world. Preach the Gospel. In other words silence is of little value to Father. Our voices are given to us to speak the truth, the Word of the Lord, at every opportunity.
Brothers and sisters, how about we do that? How about we stand up and acknowledge the God whom we serve relentlessly and without fear. How shall anybody come... less

I am a writer, author, and publisher.
I have been writing the words that my King Jesus has been giving to me for over thirty years.
I've written several devotionals and children's books, and my heart is to share God's personal love through the things Jesus puts on my heart, to carry out His mission statement:
“The Spirit of the Lord is on me,
because he has anointed me to preach good news to the poor.
He has sent me to heal the broken hearted,*
to proclaim release to the captives,
recovering of sight to the blind,
to deliver those who are crushed,
and to proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord.”

MISUSING DISPENSATION - NO MORE!
We're taught that God gave us a Bible that was partially obsolete even before it was canonized and has become even more obsolete by dispensation advancements since then
...even though the Bible itself says "The secret things belong unto the LORD our God: but those things which are revealed belong unto us and to our children FOR EVER, that we may do all the words of this law" (Deut. 29:29) and "Now all these things happened unto them for ensamples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come" (I Cor. 10:11).
In Christianity we have a bewildering number of denominational divisions and schisms disagreeing with each other over which scriptures are obsolete
...even though we are commanded "...that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you; but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment" (I Cor. 1:10), "I hear that there be divisions among you..." so "...there must be also heresies among you..." (I Cor 11:18), and "....there should be no schism in the body; but that the members should have the same care one for another" (I Cor. 12:25).
We're taught that Jesus is coming imminently for His bride while we're still in this condition
...even though the Bible says Jesus will "...sanctify and cleanse it [us] with the washing of water by the word, That he might present it [us] to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it [we] should be holy and without blemish" (Eph. 5:26-27).
We observe that, though God has put the Bible into the public domain, a dispensation decryption key must float around in the possession of some secret society of theologians, commentators, and pastors, who we are supposed to do as the Thessalonians did, "...received the word of God which ye heard of us, ye received it not as the word of men, but as it is in truth, the word of God..." (I Th. 2:13)
...even though the Bible says that the Bereans "...were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so" (Acts 17:11).
The specific verses that we're taught are obsolete are IMMEDIATELY adjacent to other verses we know not to be obsolete and lack ANY scripture guideline ANYWHERE to differentiate between them that way. In several of these very same examples, the rationale for the instruction is clearly given, spans several supposed dispensations going back to creation.... CHURCH LEADERS, DO YOU WANT YOUR CONGREGANTS TO READ THE BIBLE BUT JUST NOT BELIEVE IT? OR WILL YOU REBUKE THOSE WHO READ WITH A BELIEVING HEART AND SEE THESE THINGS FROM THEIR BIBLES? Isn't it astonishing that church leaders get so upset at someone who chooses to believe God, who gives them righteousness for doing so (Rom. 4:5), above the pulpit's contrary words? In all seriousness, do they really think the Bride has made herself ready as she brazenly says some of God's words became satanic since leaving "that dispensation" rather than cooperate with their Author who says He'll wash us by them?
As long as the term "dispensation" is misunderstood and misused, these unbecoming and wrongful contrasts cannot be reconciled. They are unavoidable consequences of that blemish in the Bride - a blemish that needs to be washed by the water of the word. All capital letters would be appropriate for me to say this: I appeal, not to any perceived authority in my words or lack thereof, but to these words' fidelity to God's heart and befitting this season of His calendar - His soon-arriving Kingdom. There are times for Him to wink at blemishes and when old wineskins can be cavalier to reckon them to low priority, but not right now for new wineskins standing at the threshhold of this next season. A less cavalier approach should be in the hearts of those of us who want to be most fit to enter this coming Kingdom age. I'm not suggesting that only those most fit will enter, but I do point out that Jesus made clear there will be greater and lesser among those who do enter based on how we handle His least commandments (Matt. 5:19).
We're taught that while "dispensation" technically means "administration", it is still perfectly fine to use it as a synonym of "age" or "time"
...even though none, zero, not a single instance of the nine times dispensation is used by Jesus and the Apostle Paul does it ever remotely refer to a time nor time period. It bears repeating, not even remotely! The nine locations of the term are these: (Bible version abbreviations are courtesy http://biblegateway.com/versions/)
1) Luke 16:2,3,4 (Greek texts);
2) 3 times of Paul's COMMISSION to preach the Gospel (i.e., his JOB) 1 Corinthians 9:17
