Complete — “Our blissful participation in everything that the gospel communicates does not age. The freshness of our first encounter continues to this very day. I possess an inward certainty about you, confident that He who is the initiator of the good work within you is also the One who executes its completeness as mirrored in Jesus Christ, who is the light of day. He is the fullness of time.” (Philippians 1:5-6, The Mirror Bible)
Have you thought about your first encounter with the truth of the Gospel? Some had an instant transformation, like Paul did. For others, it took some time. Some of the disciples needed lots of time with Jesus for them to come into a faith that transformed them.
That doesn’t mean that Paul nor the disciples ever quit learning. Just because they had gone through transformation, didn’t mean they were done. So just like us, we haven’t fully arrived, nor will we, until Jesus returns.
So if your progression seems slow, don’t give up. Holly Spirit is here to help you on your journey! Remember your first time of encounter and recognize that you didn’t stay there. You have been growing ever closer to Jesus fulfilling your completeness in Him!
Lets Pray:
Daddy God, we thank You for beginning a good work in us and for Your faithful promise to complete it. As we reflect on our first encounter with the Gospel, fill our hearts with gratitude for how far You've brought us. Help us to embrace the journey of transformation, understanding that You're not finished with us yet. Give us patience with ourselves and confidence in Your process. When progress seems slow, remind us that You are the initiator and the completer of our faith. Holy Spirit, continue to guide us on this beautiful journey toward completeness in Christ. In Jesus' name, Amen.
