We have put many security features in place to prevent fake profiles. However, some still get through and we are constantly looking for those and remove them. One way that helps us immensely is to have our members report the fake profiles to us. Here are 4 ways to handle friend requests…

If someone asks you to be friends, we recommend you click their profile photo and LOOK at their profile page before you accept. If you are not comfortable with what you see, OR if you get a message that you cannot view their profile for any reason, you can do one of 4 things:

    • IGNORE the request. Don’t click any buttons and just forget it is there. If you choose this, you will still see their request in your pending friend request list.

    • REJECT their friend request. Clicking the “Reject Request” button will cancel the request and remove it from your view, but it will allow them to ask you again if they choose.

    • REJECT AND REPORT their friend request. (RECOMMENDED IF YOU SEE A MESSAGE THAT YOU CANNOT VIEW A MEMBER PROFILE) Click the “Reject Request” button, then immediately click the “Mark as Spam” button, and then report it. This will keep them from asking you to be friends again, plus it will place a mark against their account. Excessive marks against a member will result in their account being banned, possibly forever. Please do NOT use this option unless they are harassing or threatening you in some way, as some people simply want to be friends with new people and have no ill-intent.

    • BLOCK them. You can block any other member from being able to see your account, which means they cannot ask you to be friends again. Here is the link with instructions on how to block someone: https://xapit.com/faq/view/16/10/13/0/how-to-block-another-member.

We immediately research all reports we receive about fraudulent accounts and/or scammers. If we find they are fake accounts, they will be banned from using XAPiT immediately.

BUT... for us to do anything about problem accounts or posts, we need our members to send us details on the perceived violation, including the actual link of the offender’s profile page so we can research the report and take action if necessary.

Without detailed info, we cannot ban or suspend the offenders. We are sure you can appreciate that we cannot take corrective action against a member without detailed information on why we took action to punish the reported member(s).

Please provide us as much information as possible, including any messages exchanged with the offending member(s). Please send the information to SUPPORT@XAPIT.COM and we will review your report thoroughly.

To block another user from contacting you, you must go to their profile and click on the blue Others button that’s to the right of their profile image. Once expanded, there will be an option that says Block Member... click that option.

Once selected, it will ask you to confirm the block. Once confirmed, that person will be added to your blocked members and no longer be able to contact you.

Another method to block a member that you have been messaging with is through the Block Member link in the upper right-hand corner in the message window.

    Disclaimer and Scam Information

Users should be aware of potential scammers. We ask that you use caution when communicating with other users who you do not know personally. If another user of the site asks for money, wishes to engage in wire transfers or engages in conversation that is inappropriate, please discontinue all correspondence with that party and contact XAPiT Support immediately by either private message or email at support@xapit.com

Due to the volume of user accounts, it is impossible to completely confirm the integrity of every user account created. Therefore, users are urged to use caution when communicating with other users you may not know personally. We encourage you to use common sense in these matters.

    Helpful Tips to Avoiding Scams:

Never provide personal or bank information over messaging or phone.

Never wire funds to another user. Any user who requests wire funds or the like is a scam.

What To Do If You Believe You've Been Scammed:

Stop all contact with the scammer immediately.

Contact XAPiT Support immediately by either private message or email at support@xapit.com and provide us with all correspondence.
